The senate bill filed by Sen. Villanueva is one of the measures to help the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and other metropolitan areas to minimize the traffic problems in the Philippines.

Senate Bill 1165 will mandate "any person, whether natural or juridical, with residence or business address in metropolitan areas such as, but not limited to Metro Manila, Angeles, Bacolod, Baguio, Batangas, CDO, Cebu, Dagupan, Davao, Iloilo, Naga, and Olongapo, who intends to purchase a motor vehicle" to present a notarized affidavit that will attest to the availability of a 'permanent parking space or facility or that a parking space or facility has been leased or procured' for the vehicle that will be purchased.

Based upon the Senate Bill, a copy of the notarized affidavit shall be presented and given to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) as a pre-requisite for registration. The document shall remain in file with the LTO and will be used as evidence should the the existence of such parking space for the vehicle under registered owner's name be contested.

The MMDA already made some measures to clear illegally parked vehicles to ease traffic, Sen. Villanueva just wanted to show his support to what the MMDA did by filing the "No Garage, No Car" bill.

R. Tiglao Exposed LTO Records Showing Aquino Never Bought or Sold a Porsche

Veteran columnist Rigoberto Tiglao exposed the Land Transportation Office (LTO) records of former President Benigno Aquino III showing that he never bought or sold an expensive Porsche car. The LTO records proved that the former President did not sold his Porsche 911 Carrera car which he claimed he bought for P5 million. The controversial Porsche car of the former President made headlines just months into his presidency but he explained that he bought the luxury car with the proceeds he got when he sold his BMW. Because of the furor from such display of opulence, Pres. Aquino claimed to have sold it six months later for exactly the same price. According to Tiglao during that time he asked through his column the LTO to release the car's deed of sale and registration to prove that it was not a gift from a Chinese-Filipino tycoon as rumored by some individuals critical to the President.
