Sen. Pacquiao: CIDG-8 Chief Allegedly Received P1.5 Million from Kerwin Espinosa

Senator Manny Pacquiao, one of the few personality trusted by Kerwin Espinosa revealed to the media that the alleged drug lord confirmed to him about his transactions with Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Eastern Visayas (CIDG-8).


According to Sen. Pacquiao, Kerwin Espinosa allegedly give P1.5 million to Superintendent Marvin Marcos, the chief of CIDG in Region 8. Supt. Marcos was already relieved by the PNP pending investigation over Mayor Rolando Espinosa's death.

Sen. Pacquiao was quoted as saying "Sabi niya, yung si Marcos daw, dahil tumatakbo yung misis niya, and then hinihingian siya ng P3 million. Nagtawaran pa tapos sabi P2.5 [million] na lang pero hindi talaga kung hindi P1.5 [million] lang nabigay pauna," Pacquiao said in a TV interview.

The CIDG-8 was responsible for the death of Mayor Espinosa and during the Senate hearing, CIDG-8 Chief Supt. Marvin Marcos admitted that he was the one who ordered his men to arrest Mayor Espinosa.

Sen. Manny Pacquiao met with Kerwin Espinosa a few hours after the alleged drug lord's arrival from Dubai. Pacquiao and Espinosa had a one-hour meeting wherein Kerwin told Espinosa some of the most controversial details of Espinosa's drugs operations.

According to Sen. Manny Pacquiao, the P1.5 million money intended for CIDG-8 Chief Superintendent Marcos was handed by Mayor Rolando Espinosa himself by order of Kerwin Espinosa.

Aside from the revelations made by Kerwin to Pacquiao that Marcos received P1.5 million, the alleged drug lord also made an explosive revelations. Kerwin Espinosa admitted that Sen. Leila De Lima supposedly received P8 million from the alleged Eastern Visayas drug lord, Kerwin Espinosa.

Sen. Pacquiao added further that according to Kerwin, there were other high-ranking officials who received money from him, which he will mention when the Senate probe on Mayor Espinosa's death resumes on Wednesday.
