Change Has Come in Divisoria: NCRPO Confirms No Pickpocketing or Snatching Since Dec. 16

Change is indeed coming in various parts of the country as ordinary Filipino citizens experienced the Duterte phenomena after the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) head Director Oscar Albayalde confirmed that since December 16, 2016, no incident of pickpocketing or snatching was reported.

In an interview with the media, the NCRPO Chief stated that "No incident of pickpocketing or snatching was reported in Divisoria, considered as a haven for petty crimes during the previous administration.

During the previous years, based on records by the NCRPO, there were at least two to three incidents of snatching reported every day and the NCRPO believes this is due to the increased police presence in the area.

The authorities also noted that the incidents that were reported since December were missing children at least two to three everyday but all were accounted for and returned to their respective parents.

Based on estimates there were 700,000 people in Divisoria every Friday morning and the NCRPO expected the number to increase as the day goes by. The authorities also made some inspections on stores selling fruits, horns, and toys.

Aside from inspecting Divisoria and reporting that change has come indeed in the area, the NCRPO also conducted some inspections in the areas of Baclaran where they distributed pamphlets warning against firecrackers.

An estimated 10,000 to 20,000 people usually go to Baclaran everyday, the NCRPO also instructed the precinct commander assigned in the area to allow the vendors to sell their wares on the sidewalk but ensure that the road is clear.

The controversial Porsche car of the former President made headlines just months into his presidency but he explained that he bought the luxury car with the proceeds he got when he sold his BMW. Because of the furor from such display of opulence, Pres. Aquino claimed to have sold it six months later for exactly the same price. According to Tiglao during that time he asked through his column the LTO to release the car's deed of sale and registration to prove that it was not a gift from a Chinese-Filipino tycoon as rumored by some individuals critical to the President. The only possible way to discover whether the Porsche luxury was indeed sold was through ...
