Mahar Lagmay Belies Leah Navarro's Claims that Pres. Duterte Was the Reason of Project NOAH's End

Former board member of MTRCB, Leah Navarro made headlines anew after Project NOAH Executive Director Mahar Lagmay burned her on social media for spreading lies about the real reasons why Project NOAH will no longer be available due to lack of funds.

Project NOAH Executive Director Mahar Lagmay confirmed earlier to the media that the national government will scrap its flagship disaster management initiative, DOST's Projec NOAH or Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards, starting March due to "lack of funds" for the program.

Leah Navarro claimed on her Twitter account that President Rody Duterte was responsible for the untimely demise of Project NOAH. She posted the following message on Twitter:

"Sad, so sad. Bad news. This admin is bringing us back to the Dark Ages"

The head of Project NOAH responded to Leah Navarro, one of the known supporter of the Liberal Party, that the project of the DOST was already killed by the Aquino administration and not by the Duterte administration as what Navarro suggests.

Aside from Leah Navarro some users on social media particularly those who are critical with the Duterte administration blamed the former Mayor of Davao City as the one responsible.

Numerous news media outlets in the country such as Rappler, Inquirer, ABS-CBN and other mainstream media outlets already posted articles about Project NOAH's fate without really making some depth analysis that Pres. Duterte is not responsible but it was the Aquino administration.

One of Pres. Rody Duterte's ally, DA Secretary Manny Pinol is already doing his best to get the service of Project NOAH as he wanted the agency to work under his department because it helps a lot on their various agriculture projects.

Veteran columnist Rigoberto Tiglao exposed the Land Transportation Office (LTO) records of former President Benigno Aquino III showing that he never bought or sold an expensive Porsche car. The LTO records proved that the former President did not sold his Porsche 911 Carrera car which he claimed he bought for P5 million. The controversial Porsche car of the former President made headlines just months into his presidency but he explained that he bought the luxury car with the proceeds he got when he sold his BMW. Because of the furor from such display of opulence, Pres. Aquino claimed to have sold it six months later for exactly the same price. According to Tiglao during that time he asked through his column the LTO to release the car's deed of sale and registration to prove that it was not a gift from a Chinese-Filipino tycoon as rumored by some individuals critical to the President. The only possible way to discover whether the Porsche luxury was indeed sold was through ...
