Veteran lawyer and a prominent Duterte supporter, Atty. Bruce Rivera couldn't control her emotions after reports surfaced online that Sen. De Lima is now evading arrest by taking refuge at the Philippine Senate Hall.
Last night, Sen. De Lima evaded arrest in her house in Paranaque City by quickly returning to the Senate in Pasay City. Elements of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrived at her ParaƱaque City home Thursday evening in a bid to serve an arrest warrant but the senator had left for the Senate around 30 minutes before they arrived.
According to Atty. Rivera, he was shocked to hear that De Lima hid herself in the Senate and Sen. Pimentel allegedly would not allow her to be arrested in the Senate perhaps, out of respect for the August body.
The veteran lawyer also reminded the supporters of De Lima that he quite distinctly remember PNoy saying that it is quite impossible to accept the Napoles testimony because by implicating a lot of Senators, more than majority and so many Congressman, she will cause a constitutional crisis and De Lima agreed with it.

Here's the Complete Statement of Atty. Bruce Rivera:
WE DO NOT JUST NEED CHANGE. WE NEED AN OVERHAUL
I was struggling with my health yesterday so I decided to sleep and not attend invitations. My medications made me sleep the whole day and when I woke up this morning, I was shocked to hear that de Lima hid herself in the Senate and Pimentel would not allow her to be arrested in the Senate, perhaps, out of respect for the august body.
At dito po kumukulo ang dugo ko sa inis.
I quite distinctly remember PNoy saying that it is quite impossible to accept the Napoles testimony because by implicating a lot of Senators, more than majority and so many Congressman, she will cause a constitutional crisis. And de Lima agreed with it.
Pero, what she is doing right now is precisely the same thing. She is placing the legislative in a direct collision course with the executive and worst, she will now force the judiciary to take a stand and decide. Of course, the decision of the SC will cause uproar no matter may it be for de Lima or for the government.
And I do not know where Koko Pimentel is coming from. Why protect de Lima? She may be a Senator but respect for the Republic, persecuted or not, should come before respect for the Senate. After all, the warrant has the presumption of regularity. And a Senator in the eyes of the law is no higher than an ordinary citizen.
Are our systems that inutile that it protects the high and mighty as the expense of the people who wants justice. More importantly, is this Constitution still working for our best interest?
The election of Duterte was a constitutional revolution. It was a message of protest to the status quo. However, if the constitutional revolution is not enough because the same constitution is used by the very same people we have been protesting against to perpetuate their hold to power, use their positions to frustrate the ends of justice then perhaps we should have a revolution in the real of the word. A change in the whole system. An overhaul.
A REVOLUTIONARY GOVERNMENT BY DUTERTE IS WHAT WE NEED.
