DENR Sec. Gina Lopez Bans Anew All Prospective Open-Pit Mines in the Philippines

Secretary Gina Lopez of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) fired another shot at the mining industry as she ordered anew to ban all prospective open-pit mines in the Philippines. During a press briefing DENR Sec. Lopez announced that she is banning the open-pit method of mining for copper, gold, silver and complex ores all over the country. Sec. Gina Lopez was quoted as saying "As a matter of policy, which is my prerogativve as DENR secretary, we're banning open-pit mining, prospective, for the following reasons: that pit is gonna be there forever and a day, eternally," Lopez said. Whistleblower Reveals Names of Media Companies Earning Millions in Making Anti-Duterte Stories

Concerned netizen Dan Jimenez posted controversial expose on social media shared by some whistleblowers who revealed the names of media companies allegedly earning millions by making up stories to discredit Pres. BIR Files Tax Evasion Case Worth P39.6 Million Against Actor Richard Gutierrez

The administration of Pres. Rody Duterte continue its drive against alleged tax evaders as the Bureau of Internal Revenue files tax evasion case worth around P39.60 million against popular TV actor Richard Gutierrez and his production company. According to BIR they filed the criminal complaint against Richard Gutierrez on Friday before the Department of Justice (DOJ). BIR stated that Richard Gutierrez, the President of R Gutz Production Corp., attempted to evade paying taxes and failed to file income tax returns in 2012. These are in violation of several sections of the Internal Revenue Code of 1997, or the Tax Code, the bureau sai. Sen. Bongbong Marcos Pays P36-Million for Election Protest Against VP Leni

Former Senator Bongbong Marcos has already paid the Supreme Court of the Philippines (SC) P36 million as initial payment for his election protest against Vice Pres.
