Worcestershire have confirmed Alex Hepburn has been charged with two counts of rape following an investigation by West Mercia Police.
The charge is in relation to an incident which occurred on April 1 and the all-rounder has been suspended pending further investigation.
Hepburn, 21, was charged on November 9 and will next appear at Worcester Magistrates Court on December 7.
A spokesman for Worcestershire said: "Worcestershire CCC can confirm that Alex Hepburn was charged on the 9th November with two counts of Rape following an investigation by West Mercia Police into an incident which occurred on Saturday 1st April 2017.
"As the matter is now subject to criminal proceedings the club is unable to provide any further comment at this stage."
Meanwhile, the Division One side also confirmed they are in the process of dealing with a disciplinary matter involving director of cricket Steve Rhodes.
The club have refused to comment on reports that Rhodes has been put on enforced leave because of the way he handled Hepburn's case.
