One of the biggest name's in men's tennis has another new coach.
Novak Djokovic, who has 12 Grand Slam titles to his credit, announced Thursday he will work with former player Radek Stepanek.
The tennis star invited fans to join him on Instagram Live for a chat. It was there that he announced the news.
“So this is the new team, baby. This is my new man,” Djokovic said.
Added Stepanek: “Now it’s official.”
So what about Andre Agassi, who has been working with Djokovic on a part-time level since the French Open? He will continue to coach Djokovic with his focus on Grand Slam events.
Just after splitting with coach Marian Vajda, Djokovic brought Agassi on board in May. He also had worked with three-time Wimbledon champion and former world No. 1 Boris Becker, but that three-year relationship ended in 2016.
Djokovic welcomes Stepanek after he reitred from competition earlier this month. The Czech player was ranked as high as No. 8 in singles and notched two Grand Slam men's doubles championships.
Djokovic hasn't played since Wimbledon, complaining of a right elbow injury.
