A 5.1-magnitude earthquake hit Wao town in Lanao del Sur early Friday morning, the Philippine Instritute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The epicenter was east northeast of Wao and was tectonic in origin with a depth of 9 kilometers.
Intensity V was felt in nearby Kadingilan town, Intensity IV in Pangantukan town while Intensity III was felt in Maramag town. All towns are located in the province of Bukidnon.
Meanwhile, Intensity II was felt in Cagayan de Oro City in Misami Oriental.
The PHIVOLCS reported that there are no damages expected. However, the people are warned of possible aftershocks. — BAP, GMA News
