‘LA LUNA SANGRE’ – Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin haven’t lost their screen chemistry despite not sharing the limelight for several years. This they proved – and continue to do so – in ABS-CBN’s “La Luna Sangre,” where they play the antagonists of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.
To quote one viewer, a lady movie columnist, “Ang lakas ng dating nila. Halos sila na ang nagdadala ng istorya.”
It’ll be called that for GMA and Regal, Richard and Angel co-starred in one blockbuster after the other. But the tandem stopped when Angel transferred to ABS-CBN and Star Cinema. Richard remained with GMA and remained the network’s unchallenged primetime king.
When Richard turned freelancer, ABS-CBN wisely cast him with Angel in “La Luna Sangre.” A starrer opposite Angel in a movie for Star Cinema is coming up. And so the screen chemistry continues. To think they are only friends..not lovers.

CHEMISTRY – While at it, Highspeed enumerates loveteams with chemistry even if they are (were) only friends. Sure there must have been initial attraction (mutual or one-sided), but then it didn’t turn into offscreen romance.
John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo. Again Lloydie and Bea Alonzo.
Piolo Pascual and Judy Ann Santos. (Why not a reteaming?)
Aga Muhlach and Lea Salonga. Richard Gomez and Snooky Serna.
And , of course, Boyet de Leon and Vilma Santos. Again Boyet and Sharon Cuneta.

FROM WAY BACK – Let’s look from back and think of the screen chemistry of:
Susan Roces and Eddie Gutierrez. Again Susan and Bobby Vasquez.
Gloria Romero and Luis Gonzales. Again Gloria and Ric Rodrigo and Ramon Revilla.
Nida Blanca and Nestor de Villa. Also Nida and Dolphy (on both movie and TV).
Rosa del Rosario and Pol Salcedo. Carmen Rosales and Roger de la Rosa.
Tessie Quintana and Armando Goyena. Delia Razon and Mario Montenegro.
Charito Solis and Ric Rodrigo. Rosa Rosal and Tony Santos.
