According to a report by Maki Pulido on "24 Oras" on Wednesday, the women were appealing to President Rodrigo Duterte for their rescue. The seven hostages were all wearing hijab. It was unclear when and where the video was taken. A video of another alleged hostage, Father Teresito "Chito" Suganob, has also spread in the social media. The report said the military was still looking into the motive behind the video.
