2 Oriental beauties in Yamashita movies

The 1956 movie The Treasure of Gen. Yamashita featured two Oriental beauties, Lola Young of Hong Kong and Mitsuko Mito of Japan. The two actresses shared stellar billing with Leopoldo Salcedo, Pancho Magalona and Danilo Montes.

Lola also starred in Sanda Wong with Jose Padilla, Lilia Dizon and Danilo Montes.

Yamashita and Sanda Wong were a joint venture between the Philippines’ Manuel Vistan Jr. and his Chinese counterpart Ho Chapman.

The ’50s saw local productions partnering with Asian filmmakers. Golden Harvest, Hong Kong-based studio, co-produced with Sampaguita Hong Kong Holiday and Pagoda. LVN co-produced Hawayana with Indonesia. — RKC

R. Tiglao Exposed LTO Records Showing Aquino Never Bought or Sold a Porsche

Veteran columnist Rigoberto Tiglao exposed the Land Transportation Office (LTO) records of former President Benigno Aquino III showing that he never bought or sold an expensive Porsche car. The LTO records proved that the former President did not sold his Porsche 911 Carrera car which he claimed he bought for P5 million. The controversial Porsche car of the former President made headlines just months into his presidency but he explained that he bought the luxury car with the proceeds he got when he sold his BMW. Because of the furor from such display of opulence, Pres. Aquino claimed to have sold it six months later for exactly the same price. DSWD Sec. Judy Taguiwalo Reveals How ABS-CBN Twisted Her Statement on EJK

Secretary Judy Taguiwalo of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) accused one of the country's leading news media organization, ABS-CBN of taking advantage of her presence at a forum to corner her on what she can say about the extra-judicial killing (EJK) and made it appear that she's one of Pres. Duterte's adversary. The DSWD Secretary took to Facebook and shared to her followers how her statement was allegedly twisted by ABS-CBN. She was angered by ABS-CBN News' article about her statement during the October 6 Women's Forum where she was invited as guest speaker.
