"No Garage, No Car" Bill Filed by Sen. Joel Villanueva at the Philippine Senate

Senator Joel Villanueva, a newcomer in the Upper House filed Senate Bill 1165 or the "No Garage, No Car," bill that will mandate any person, whether natural or juridical, with residence or business address in metropolitan areas in different pars of the country. Pres. Duterte Approves P3,000/Month Combat Duty Pay Increase for the PNP and the Military

The first-ever President from Mindanao, Pres. Rody Duterte has approved the proposed P3,000 per month increase from the previous P500 per month combat pay. All qualified members of the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will received the increase starting this month. According to Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno, the P3,000 per month combat pay for PNP and the AFP was in pursuant to Pres. Rody Duterte's Executive Order 3 dated September 26, 2016. The monthly combat pay or allowance for the PNP and the military is separate from the salary increase for the personnel of the PNP and AFP as provided by Executive Order 201, s. 2016. One of the country's most prominent and brilliant lawmaker Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago dies at the age of 71. She succumbed to cancer on Thursday morning as confirmed by her husband Atty. Duterte Admin Revives Plans to Build Metro Manila Subway

The Duterte administration is now reviving plans to build the most expensive Public-Private Partnership deal, building a Metro Manila Subway. The plan was originally proposed during the Aquino administration but failed to materialize. The P374.5-billion ($8.8 billion) subway project in Metro Manila will connect the cities of Makati, Pasay and Taguig. The Department of Transportation headed by Sec. DENR Proposed to Close Down at Least 20 Mining Firms

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) through their head Sec. Gina Lopez announced that at least 20 more mining operations failed to pass an Environment Audit by the DENR, compelling the department to recommend that they shut down. According to DENR Sec. Lopez, the mining companies which are listed below supposedly violated environmental laws by causing siltation and soil erosion, as well as unchecked dust emissions among other violations. 40 Abu Sayyaf Died 25 Others Injured During an Encounter with Philippine Military
